In civil engineering, concrete raising is a process that attempts to adjust an unsound concrete surface by tilting the base on which the surface rests upon. This is done with the use of steel ties, concrete pumps, and concrete rollers. The entire process of concrete raising involves four major steps which include: setting up the base, rolling the elevated surface, pumping and stabilizing concrete, and removing the raised surface. The first step that occurs when a concrete lifting procedure is performed is placing a steel frame onto which the elevated concrete will be placed. Once this has been done, the individual will make adjustments to the frame until the concrete level is at the desired height. Once the desired height is reached the platform or table that the elevated surface is being raised on will be lowered and the concrete will be rolled out on to the platform or table. At this point the work of the concrete lifter begins.
